Ajman Free Zone achieves 33% growth in new registered companies in 2021


Ajman Media City Free Zone or Ajman Free Zone has witnessed a growth of 33% in the number of new companies registered during the first quarter of this year (Q1), in comparison with the same period of 2020.

In the first three months of 2021, the number of newly-registered companies reached 492, almost double the amount compared to the same term last year. This is a result of AFZ’s outstanding performance during the last year. We also take into consideration the business community growth in Ajman.

AFZ is considered a driving force for the ongoing educational system development. This year, the education sector (training, educational counseling, freelancing) recorded a 39% increase.

Ajman also aims to become the cornerstone of sustainable development for the well-being of its residents. Thus, the technology sector achieved a 23% growth.

AFZ is also attractice environment for healthcare institutions. Due to the advanced infrastructure, strategic location and vital facilities, the healthcare sector registered an increase of 34%.

The general director of Ajman Free Zone, Ali AlSuwaidi, stated that: "The operational performance results for the first quarter of 2021 showed tangible and steady progress across various economic and investment activities. Our achievement mainly comes due to the success of our approach, which aims at laying the foundations for innovation and accelerating the pace of smart transformation. This will ensure the continuity of services, solutions, and facilities to meet the changing needs of both local and international business communities."

He also added: "Our impressive performance continues as a result of our firm commitment to strengthening our digital platforms, which have shown remarkable success in terms of speeding up service delivery within short time frame and optimally investing available resources to better support our expansion plan in the UAE, as well as in the regional and global markets."
