Depending of the purpose of your visit to the UAE, there are several different types of visa you can get.
The UAE visa application and the UAE visa status depend on the purpose and duration of your stay in the United Arab Emirates.
All you need to check your residence visa validity is your passport number and the passport expiry date. So you're good even if you have a photocopy of your passport, or a scanned version saved on your phone.
The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship provides this service through its website. A resident can enter passport information to verify if visa is still valid and can check whether the issued visa is authentic or not. Residents can also cross-check the validity of visa through this official government website.
If you already have an entry permit/residence visa to Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah check your visa validity on the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship- ICA (the eChannel for residency and citizenship). If you already have an entry permit/residence visa in Dubai, check your visa validity through Amer-GDRFA in Dubai.
Visas are available upon arrival to UAE airports. This includes those who hold visas in their passports or entry stamps from other countries and visa is valid for a one month stay in the UAE. If you plan to stay longer, you may contact the local immigration office while you are in the UAE and request an extension.
Indian citizens holding regular passports with U.S. visas, green cards, U.K Resident Permits, or EU resident permits are allowed to receive entry visa upon arrival to UAE valid for 14 days and can be extended only once for a similar period.
